James Bond fans are losing their minds after spotting an extra’s ‘non-method’ acting in the background of one of the films.
Eagle-eyed viewers spotted the performance in Quantum of Solace, with the background artist taking a rather bizarre approach to ‘blending in’.
It’s worth watching the film just for the blink-and-you-’ll-miss-it moment. Alternatively, you can view the clip below – just watch out for the man in orange trousers:
Yes, that really was a man pretending to sweep badly – with his broom clearly at least a foot off the ground.

It’s even more staggering when you consider that Quantum of Solace cost over $200 million to make.
Though it’s unclear why the background artist choose to perform like this, Bond fans have theorised that he was told to lift the brush as it was creating too much noise on set.
Sadly though, neither lead actor Daniel Craig nor director Marc Foster have commented on the error which made the final cut.

However, the director did reveal that he’d wanted to ‘pull out’ of the spy sequel after being given an unfinished script before filming began.
Speaking to Collider in 2016, he told the outlet: “…at the time I thought, ‘Okay maybe I should pull out’ because we didn’t have a finished script. But everybody said, ‘No we need to make a movie, the [writer’s] strike will be over shortly so you can start shooting what we have and then we’ll finish everything else’.”
While the cast and crew may not have commented on the mistake, it hasn’t stopped Bond fans from enjoying the hilarious clip.

One user on Reddit even wrote a side-splitting review about the lack of ‘method’ that went into the performance, saying: “This is what a non method actor looks like. Didn't do the 6 months of apprenticeship sweeping to actually do a convincing job.”
They went on: “It's fool a layman's eye but any professional sweeper or sweeping enthusiast would be very unconvinced, shame Hollywood doesn't care about having accurate sweeping in their films.”
However, other fans of the franchise had more empathy for the extra, with another adding that they’d do similar during a part-time job.
“Honestly, that’s the most realistic worker I’ve seen in a movie,” they wrote, joking: “I made through a whole summer at McDonald’s using this same technique getting paid minimum wage."

Well, everyone has got to earn a living somehow, we guess.
