The best Spider-Man films are being added to Netflix US from 1 August, and we couldn't be happier.

Are your Spidey-senses tingling? Good, it means you've got killer intuition, or you're signed up for Netflix's newsletter, because the incredible films are coming to a screen near you.

They're already available on Netflix UK, just in case you weren't aware.

Look, we love Tom Holland's and Andrew Garfield's versions of Spider-Man, each actor has their unique spin on the webbed superhero, and we're here for it.

But, we will always have a soft spot for Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man and director Sam Raimi's vision, which saw the incredible Spider-Man 2, and possibly the best superhero fight scene ever (Dr. Octopus on a train anyone?) brought into existence.

The first of the trilogy, released in 2002, sees Tobey Maguire star as Peter Parker, the lovable science-whiz with a crush on Kristen Dunst's Mary-Jane.

To be fair, we've loved every variation of Peter and MJ.

When Peter's uncle Ben is killed by a carjacker, Peter uses the power he obtains from a spider bite to keep his neighbourhood safe.

However, as the trilogy of films continues, Peter comes face to face with scarier foes, including the Green Goblin, Dr. Octopus, and Venom.

And, naturally, people were excited about the news and shared their reactions on Twitter, one said: "The best spiderman is Tobey Maguire."

While another, presumably shouting with sheer joy, added: "I LOVE SPIDERMAN IM SO HAPPY."

Others started to question why fellow streaming services hadn't followed suit: "when will it come to disney + tho (before anyone says sony owns it it’s on disney + in other countries)."

Even if the special effects weren't great, the costumes were.

And to that we say, do what everyone else does and ask politely if you dan use your mate's Netflix login – temporarily, of course.

The joy that the trilogy ignites is clear to its fans, and to its critics, we say that yes, the film series does have some fairly low-budget special effects but it's the heart of the trilogy, the spirit of it, that makes it truly incredible.

Plus, the film is full of absolutely killer lines, including: "Whatever life holds in store for me, I will never forget these words: 'With great power, comes great responsibility.' This is my gift, my curse. Who am I? I'm Spider-Man."

I mean, where else could you get a superhero non-ironically referring to himself in the third person? It's a gold mine.
