One series causing quite the stir was first released onto Amazon Prime Video on 22 October, 2022 and stars Kick-Ass actor Chloë Grace Moretz.
Executive produced and created by Scott Smith, The Peripheral is a sci-fi series loosely adapted from a book with the same name written by William Gibson.
Despite its first season only having been out for a couple of months, viewers are already hooked, with many calling the show 'the best sci-fi series this year'.

The official synopsis for the Amazon Prime Video series reads: "The Peripheral centers on Flynne Fisher, a woman trying to hold together the pieces of her broken family in a forgotten corner of tomorrow's America.
"Flynne is smart, ambitious, and doomed. She has no future. Until the future comes calling for her.
"The Peripheral is master storyteller William Gibson’s dazzling, hallucinatory glimpse into the fate of mankind — and what lies beyond."
Joining Moretz - who plays the lead role of Flynne Fisher - are actors including the likes of Death in Paradise's Gary Carr and The Haunting of Bly Manor's T'Nia Miller.

Sci-fans can't get enough of The Peripheral and have flooded to social media to sing its praises.
One Twitter user said: "The peripheral is the best show to happen in tv in a while and it’s disappointing that we have to wait another year or so for season two."
"The Peripheral has to be one of the best sci-fi action combos I've seen all year. Again, Amazon Prime is the go-to for action flicks. Bread and butter," another commented.

One user disagreed with the series being the 'best of the year,' but said: "The Peripheral wasn't the best series of the year (that's Andor), but I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it was much more accessible & engaging than the novel, to be honest. Let alone being way more substantial & viable a vehicle for Nolan & Joy than Westworld."
However, most Twitter users resolved: "The Peripheral (so far) is one of the best shows of the year."
Season one of The Peripheral is available to watch on Amazon Prime.
