Timothée Chalamet’s agent has sparked a heated debate over 'nepotism babies' on Twitter after claiming Chalamet 'hasn't auditioned for anything' in over seven years.
In recent days, rumours have been swirling about the Call Me By Your Name star apparently auditioning for the leading role in the upcoming Ridley Scott film Gladiator 2.
According to Deadline, the role is expected to go to Paul Mescal - but other names have been mentioned before.

Chalamet was apparently one of a number of actors who went for the role, but eventually missed out.
Other names that reportedly had meetings or auditioned for the project included Austin Butler, Miles Teller and Richard Madden.
But Brian Swardstrom - Chalamet's agent - has denied suggestions that the 27-year-old was ever involved in auditioning for Gladiator 2 by pointing out how he has been filming in the Middle East for the last few months.

Taking to Twitter, he said: "I know one of those actors was shooting a film in the middle east for the past several months – and he hasn’t auditioned for anything in more than 7 years."
The tweet has divided opinion on social media, as Chalamet has obviously appeared in a lot of films in the past seven years - two Dune films, A Rainy Day in New York, Little Women and Bones and All - just to name a few.
If Chalamet's agents' claims are correct, then it would suggest that the actor hasn't had to audition for any of those roles.

For this reason, some fans on social media have suggested that Chalamet not auditioning for any of his roles in so long is proof of his privilege in Hollywood - making him a typical 'nepotism baby'.
The 27-year-old is the nephew of director Rodman Fender, while his grandfather, Harold Fletcher, made his name as a writer and a screenwriter.
Nicole Flender - Chalamet's mum - is also an actor known for her roles in The Bird Watcher and In The Heart of Passion.

This had led to some people taking to social media sites such as Twitter to question whether his success is down to family connections.
One person on Twitter wrote: "Hollywood is giving him a special treatment. Chalamet is a nepo baby but a lot of people don't know that, but he has an uncle in the industry that open a lot of doors for him."
A second added: "Jeez it’s kinda crazy what kinda star-power you get when you reach that level."
And a third said: "his agent saying he didn't audition for 7 years like it's a proud achievement."
