It's almost impossible to appreciate every little background detail in films, but now one person has drawn attention to one particular extra, it's hard to see anything else.
Background work can be a great starting point or even a breakthrough for a lot of actors, so it's natural that they'd want to give 100 percent to the performance.
Drawing on real life might help when it comes to knowing exactly what kind of reaction you should give, but what happens when you have to react to something entirely fictional?

Say, you know, a man who's been bitten by a spider and gained the ability to shoot webs, who swings down into the middle of a ceremony to impress his doting fans?
It's this scene which unfolds in the third of Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man movies, where Bryce Dallas Howard appears as Gwen Stacey.
The camera mainly focuses on Howard in the scene, but one internet user has drawn attention to a woman just to the left of Howard, who gives an impressive performance upon seeing Spider-Man.

They filmed the clip and shared it online with the caption: "I never realised how bad the acting was in Spider-Man."
In the clip, the woman wearing a brown suit looks up in shock before shaking her hands and jumping up from her seat. She gestures wildly towards the sky, then puts her hands on her head in amazement and sways side to side slightly as she takes in the gravity-defying scene in front of her.
The woman has obviously been there since the film first arrived in 2007, but it's only now that people are starting to zero in on her performance.
"Bro I just blurted out laughing at work," one viewer posted on X after watching the video, while another joked: "She look like a wii character."

Though many people are only just spotting the character, some fans have pointed out that her dramatic reaction was a reflection of the film's director, Sam Raimi.
"That's not bad acting, that's properly understanding the assignment of being a background extra in a Sam Raimi film," one person argued, while another added: "The whole raimi trilogy was pure camp, every actor and scene was like this."
A third wrote: "It’s a Sam Raimi film… his style has always been dramatized like this. He always has people do big cartoony over the top movements. This.. isn’t new????"

Whether you're on board with the woman's acting or not, many fans have agreed that Maguire's portrayal of the superhero still make for the 'best' films about Spider-Man, who has also been played by Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland.
