Fans are divided by the news Toy Story 5 is going to be bringing back Woody and Buzz.
This fifth film in the Disney Pixar franchise was announced back in February this year.
Many Toy Story fans didn’t think we’d be seeing the pair of characters reunited again after the end of Toy Story 4, which premiered in 2019.

Tom Hanks and Tim Allen have voiced Woody and Buzz since the first iconic film premiered in 1996.
It wasn’t clear that both of the two actors would return to voice their roles, but Allen has certainly confirmed he will be in a tweet with a picture of the superhero space ranger.
Allen wrote: “See ya soon Woody, you are a sad strange little man and you have my pity. And off we go to a number 5! To infinity and beyond!”

In Toy Story 4, the beloved characters plus new face Forky joined their owner Bonnie (they left Andy a while ago in case you’re out of the loop) on a family road trip.
And during this trip, Woody was reunited with his love interest Bo Peep, who had found a new meaning to her life as a ‘Lost Toy’.
While he’d denied himself freedom in the past and remained loyal to his owner, he finally realised Bonnie didn’t need him to be happy and decided to join Bo.
Obviously more than that goes on in the film including some creepy toys and Forky throwing himself into trash, but the ending stands that Buzz and the others returned to Bonnie but Woody remained behind with his beau, Bo.

But despite this heartbreaking end that we’re still pretending we didn’t cry over, it now seems that fictional friends will somehow be together once again.
Pixar’s chief creative officer Pete Docter told Variety: “We have another Toy Story, so Woody and Buzz are back. And we have a few other projects, but it's always a balance.”
However, despite the original films being so popular, some fans aren’t so sure about the announcement of a fifth film.

One wrote on Twitter: “Just milking it now.”
And another said: “Just stop lads, 4 was bang average.”
A confused fan wrote: “Why? Surely Toy Story 4 was a fitting end."
Others do want the film as a bit of a full-circle moment though, tweeting: “Can it end with Andy finding Woody again?”

And one wrote: “You are JOKING? This is great news! I didn’t think they’d be back for Toy Story 5.”
There isn’t yet a release date for Toy Story 5, which is OK, seeing as many of us are still getting over the end of the last one – the one a lot of us thought was the last.
