Celebrity makeup artist and former reality TV star Laney Chantal has died at the age of 33 in her home state of Michigan.
Chantal, whose real name was Alaina Chantal Parkhurst, became known through her 2013 appearance on the fifth series of the SyFy Network show Face Off, which saw special effects make-up artists go head-to-head to win a grand prize.
Chantal voluntarily withdrew from the show, but went on to work with a number of A-listers including Bella Thorne, Marilyn Manson and Lil Nas X.

"Her family and friends meant the world to her, and gathering with them during the holidays were some of her favorite and most anticipated times," it continued.
The family is asking for donations in honour of Chantal to be made to the The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation, which is 'committed to alleviating the suffering caused by mental illness by awarding grants that will lead to advances and breakthroughs in scientific research'.
The foundation has been chosen after Chantal 'struggled with various mental illnesses throughout her adult life', the family explained.
The makeup artist spent her teen years skateboarding, going to concerts and spending time with friends before she moved to Los Angeles to attend Cinema Makeup School.
