An unsuspecting man accidentally landed himself a job at NASA and didn't realise until he started work on his first day.
I think everyone has a story about something they've done by accident, but it's usually something along the lines of sending an embarrassing text to the wrong person, rather than landing a job at the USA's space agency.
TikToker Heather Harp has revealed that's exactly what happened to her boyfriend, however, as she shared a video to the platform in which her partner explained exactly how the mix-up took place.

Hear his story below:
Though he now appears satisfied with his job as a NASA engineer, Harp's boyfriend had originally interviewed for a job 'working on airplanes', presumably with a company that was not NASA.
In the video, in which he explains the situation 'in 30 seconds or less', he said he got a call back after the interview asking him if he would be interested in a different job for the 'Manipulator Analysis Graphics and Interactives Kinematics team'.

The title alone would have been enough to lose a lot of people, apparently including those who you might think would be in-the-know, as the interviewee admitted even he didn't know what it was. Still, he told the caller that it sounded interesting, and that he assumed he'd be able to get an in-person interview for the second job.
A few weeks later, he received a call to say he'd got the job. The news marks a great moment for any jobseeker, but since he had only ever interviewed for the job working on planes, he assumed that was the job he'd got.

The role was based in Texas, so the new employee upped his life and travelled to the state to start his new job. It wasn't until his first day, when he was filling out his orientation paperwork, that he realised he'd actually moved his life for the second job — the one he had never interviewed for, and which was for something he 'totally didn't understand'. This job just so happened to be at NASA.
It's unclear how long the engineer has been in the role at this point, but Harp has shared a number of videos about her 'NASA BF', so it seems he's well and truly involved with the agency.
Though it might not have been the job he expected, hopefully it's all going to plan now.
