Jenna Jameson's estranged wife Jessi Lawless says they’re finding ‘hope’ for the couple’s future despite announcing divorce

Jenna Jameson's estranged wife Jessi Lawless has taken down a recent video where she announced she was filing for an annulment.

Relationships are a tricky business, you can bounce from situation to situation not really knowing where you stand.

And celebrity relationships are no different. In fact, they are probably even more difficult to navigate since they are in the public eye.

Jameson and Lawless got married in May 2023 following a whirlwind four-month romance.

However, Lawless recently revealed that she's planning to end their marriage less than a year after they tied the knot.

In a video captioned 'It's done' and shared on social media on Tuesday (April 16), Lawless said: "There are a lot of rumors going around that Jenna and I are getting a divorce. And I'm making this video to confirm that.

"I told her at the beginning of our relationship that I was drawing a hard line and that drinking had led to so many problems in her life that I would not tolerate it at all under any circumstances."

Lawless clarified it 'shouldn't take long to finalize' after she filed for an annulment.

She also spoke about how Jameson recently went to Chicago for her first in-person event since they got married.

"This is the first time she's been away from me. I've been keeping her on the straight and narrow," she said.

"She goes to Chicago and she starts drinking. And then when I confronted her about it, she was definitely trying to lie about it until I told her that I had pictures."

Lawless finished the video by saying that she's 'sure' Jameson 'will see this' and added: "I love you with all of my heart. I really hope the best for you."

A representative for Jameson later told UNILAD that she didn't want to comment on her marriage status at the time.

Though she did express her hopes that 'anyone struggling with addiction or trying to stay sober has access to an empathic and loving support system'.

"Research has shown that empathy and understanding are better responses to addiction than judgement, shaming, and moralizing," the statement continued.

"Expressing your unconditional love and support may be one of the kindest things you can do. Let them know that you are there for them-relapse or not, ten days sober or 200.

"Unfortunately, in the past, due to cultural attitudes surrounding addiction, tactics such as shaming, humiliating, shouting and 'attack therapy' were commonplace.

"Currently, rehab centers recognize that this approach would constitute malpractice and would have no place in the delicate process of treatment.

"It is much more likely that clients will experience greater success when empathy is placed at the forefront of the client care process."

And now, Lawless has said the couple are finding 'hope' that they may still have a future together.

After they had a 'heart-to-heart phone call', Lawless decided to remove the social media video.

"I don't want her mental health impacted any more than it already has been. I love her," she told TMZ.

Lawless added: "This is a very delicate time for us. We're both heartbroken and trying to find hope for the future.

"She's told me she’d never drink again, and I can see at this point that she is in fact sober today and plans to remain that way. I just wanted her to be safe and healthy."

Jameson has previously spoken openly about her struggles with addiction, mental health and weight loss.

In a 2019 Instagram post, she wrote: "Sobriety has taught me a lot about myself, my coping mechanisms that I ignored came bubbling to the surface quickly after getting sober."

Jameson's manager, Chrissy Johnston, told UNILAD: “Jenna and Jessi are in regular communication. They still love each other and sincerely want the best for one another, whether together or apart.”

While Jameson told UNILAD: "I remain committed to my sobriety and strive to be the best version of myself I can be.

“My hope is that those who know someone who is or has suffered from addiction issues will show compassion, patience, and understanding. There is no deliberate choice to become an addict, it is an illness. The person is not the problem, the problem is the problem.

“In addition, individuals need to be aware that many of those who become addicted do so because they have experienced an incredible amount of trauma and have suffered mental pain. Being kind and supportive to those in need is always the best course of action.”
