Travis Kelce has reflected on his performance during the Super Bowl LIX, confessing it just wasn’t the Kansas City Chiefs’ ‘day’ to triumph.
Last Sunday (February 9), the Philadelphia Eagles halted Andy Reid’s hopes of achieving a historic three-peat by romping to a 40-22 victory in New Orleans.
Following the NFL Championship, held at Caesars Superdome, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, 35, was visibly emotional when telling reporters his side was experiencing a ‘lot of things going wrong’ on the field.

"I think there were a lot of things going wrong. The whole night, it was an accumulative of everything. It's going to hurt,” he added, as per KMBC.

After a few days of reflection, Travis has used his popular New Heights podcast to explain to his brother and former Birds icon Jason Kelce, 37, that he made 'mistakes' during the Super Bowl.
“It just wasn’t our day - couldn’t find a lick of momentum,” he began. “I’m kicking myself for some of the tiny, tiny decisions I made on the field.

“I wasn’t the best leader that I could be in motivating my guys and keeping my guys calm, cool and collected.”
Travis - a three-time Super Bowl champion with the Chiefs - continued to claim his side’s toothless display was a ‘tough pill to swallow’.
“It’s a hard reality. I love my teammates, I love my coaches, Chiefs Kingdom. I’m sorry for how it ended. I have a beautiful life, I have loved ones, I have the most amazing family in the world that supports me in everything I do and they were all there cheering me on,” he said.

Travis told his elder sibling that he wished the NFL match had gone a different way, remarking how he should’ve ‘helped’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes out more.
Meanwhile, his podcast co-host tried to make light of the Chiefs’ recent loss, praising the team for breaking the most catches in Super Bowl history.
“I know you don't probably care that much about it right now because of the way the game went,” Jason began.
“You have so many records at this point... but at the end of the day it's just another thing that cements you as one of the best players ever to play in the NFL.”
In response, Travis remarked that breaking the record was ‘the last thing’ he cared about right now as he continues to lick his wounds.

Fans have since come out to celebrate Jason’s overwhelming positivity during the Super Bowl debrief, with one typing: “Love that Jason always makes Trav smile even when he is super down.”
A second wrote: “Jason is the best big brother.”
“So sweet of Jason resorting to making Travis laugh when the record didn’t amuse him,” said another listener. “Love these two.”
