A man's attempt to escape from custody after being detained by authorities and charged with a series of serious crimes was caught on footage.
In a bizarre viral video, a man being held in an interrogation was able to make a rather daring escape - although it was short-lived.
Adlai Mestre, 24, was arrested and accused of shooting and killing his family their Tijeras, New Mexico home last month.

Authorities believe the suspect killed his mother Bertha, 51, father Raymundo, 46, sister Brielle, 17, and the family's dog on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024.
According to court documents seen by the Mail Online, Mestre was talking about 'killing them' and 'hearing seismic waves' at the time of his arrest. He was also found covered in blood and in possession of a loaded gun.
However, the video that has been doing the rounds on social media shows the moment Mestre tried to escape from police custody.

The video was released by the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office and showed Mestre alone in the room.
At one point, he seems to bang the wall in frustration, before noticing that it is hollow. He then proceeds to walk around from the table he was sat at, and take a few kicks at the wall.
After a few kicks, it crumbles enough to make a hole, in which he then climbs through into the hallway behind the room.
He then runs off, before voices are heard calling out and chasing after him.

Police were able to confirm that Mestre was quickly detained again - and, hopefully, put in a more secure room.
Mestre was charged with three counts of murder, four counts of tampering with evidence, and extreme cruelty to animals.
Additional charges of escape from police custody and criminal damage to property have also been added to his case following his escape attempt.
Mestre reportedly has a history of mental health issues, something his older sister was able to confirm.

She was reportedly not at home at the time of the incident and was informed by police what had happened.
When she was told that police believe her younger brother was responsible, she said: “'Did he hear voices? Yes.
“I'm pretty sure that's why.. even I started getting on his a*** about it,” she added in regards to the medication her brother had stopped taking.

Mestre remains in police custody and is being evaluated to determine whether he is fit to stand trial.
