A Florida school teacher has been arrested after CCTV footage caught her grabbing a child by the neck and throwing him to the ground.
According to local police, Khadijah Tynnettta Muhammad, 54, assaulted a kindergarten child, who was not one of her students.
The incident at Margate Elementary School in Broward County on 10 October happened in front of other students and members of staff, according to a recent police report obtained by WPLG.
Police say Muhammad approached the child in “an aggressive manner and physically grabbed him by his left wrist.”

This happened after the child threw a piece of paper in the direction of some classmates.
As per WPLG, the report added: "She continued to lift him off the ground by his arms, twist his arms and grabbed him by the back of his shirt while shoving him across the hallway.
"She ripped the jacket off his back and continuously grabbed the student by his arms, wrists, shirt and jacket until the altercation ended.
"Towards the end of the video, which was partially blocked from the camera view, she appeared to grab him around his neck and slam him to the ground."

Police went on to say that the whole attack lasted about two minutes, with Muhammed later being arrested at her home in Lauderdale Lakes and charged with child abuse.
Many parents have since voiced their concerns and dismay at the allegations, with WPLG speaking to a lot of them who have children attend Margate Elementary School.
One parent, Nikki Glasco, told the outlet: "I know our kids may act out at times, but if there’s a problem, leave the disciplining to the parents."

Meanwhile, fellow concurred parent Marilyn White said: "It’s very disgusting to know that that happened. I would have never expected that from Margate."
As part of their report, WPLG sent a reporter to Muhammad’s home, though her husband did not give too much away when spoken to through a doorbell camera.
"Is it true at all? Any truth to the allegations?," the reporter asked, to which the husband replied: "We have no comment sir. No comment!”

As of Friday, the school district confirmed that Muhammad was still employed by the school.
"The safety and well-being of students are always our highest priority," they said in a statement to WPLG.
"The school is working closely with law enforcement regarding this situation, and the teacher involved has been reassigned away from students and the school pending the outcome of the case.
"We defer to the Margate Police Department for any additional details they can provide regarding their investigation."
