Police have issued an update on the death of former US attorney Jessica Aber as they revealed there is no evidence of foul play.
On March 22, authorities confirmed that they responded to a report of an 'unresponsive woman' found at the 900 block of Beverley Drive.
At the time, police released a statement saying an investigation was being launched to understand the circumstances of the 43-year-old's death.

Aber was the United States attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia (EDVA) from 2021 to 2025, nominated by former US President Joe Biden.
However, shortly before Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the US earlier this year, Aber resigned from the high-profile role.
Alexandria police gave an update on Tuesday evening (March 25) and shed more light on the investigation into her death.

The statement confirmed that, at this point, there is no evidence of foul play.
The statement read: “At this time, detectives have found no evidence suggesting that her death was caused by anything other than natural causes.
“The investigation is ongoing, and the case will remain open until the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) returns a final ruling on the cause and manner of death.
“We urge the public to respect the privacy of Ms. Aber’s family during this time of loss. Any further updates regarding the cause and manner of death should be directed to the OCME of Virginia.”

“She was unmatched as a leader, mentor and prosecutor and she is simply irreplaceable as a human being.
“We remain in awe of how much she accomplished in her all too brief time in this world. Her professionalism, grace, and legal acumen set the standard.
"Though we are devastated by this loss, each of us in the Eastern District of Virginia will look to her example and endeavor to live up to that standard.”
