A YouTube video has broken down what it may've looked like when a woman was swallowed whole by a 23-foot python.

Python's typically eat animals such as rodents, lizards or if bigger, monkeys or antelope.

Cases of the snakes eating humans are rare, however, in 2022 one woman went missing and a snake was quickly ascertained as being the culprit.

The real life case

In October 2022, a 54-year-old Indonesian woman named Jahrah went missing, last seen going to collect rubber from a plantation in Jambi province.

Only her sandals, jacket, headscarf and knife were found, however, when her husband returned to the same spot the next day, he spotted a python which had a particularly enlarged area to its body.

Local police chief Hamka told AFP, as per the BBC: "Residents were suspicious the snake swallowed the victim, so they killed it, then carried it out of the garden."

The snake was sliced open revealing Jahrah lying inside, still fully intact - pythons killing by wrapping themselves around their prey and squeezing, causing suffocation or cardiac arrest, before swallowing them whole.

Betara Jambi police chief AKP S Harefa confirmed to local media outlets, as quoted by the BBC: "The victim was found in the snake's stomach."

Reports vary as to how large the snake was, ranging from 16ft to a staggering 23ft, and a simulation of what may've happened to Jahrah has offered a horrifying perspective of the incident.

The simulation

And YouTuber Zack D Films has done it again, taking to his channel to share a simulation of a woman getting swallowed by a python yesterday (December 16).

The video narrates: "A 23-foot python ambushed a woman, constricting her limbs tightly and swallowing her whole.

"Searchers found her sandals and machete scattered on the ground, but saw no sign of her.

"Soon after, they spotted the massive python nearby with an unusually swollen belly. Suspecting the worst, the villagers killed the snake and decided to investigate.

"And when they cut it open, they were horrified to discover the missing woman's body inside, fully intact."

And it's not taken long for social media users to weigh in on the animation.

Reactions

One said: "'Where did she go?' Suspiciously woman shaped python."

"The animators woke up and had a motivation," another added.

A third commented: "Who ever animated the woman deserves a raise."

"Shorty the detail in her chest when the snake attacks is insane," a fourth wrote.

And a fifth resolved: "New fear just unlocked."
