People have been left sickened by the inside of a PS5 after a user opened up the console following overheating issues.
With how expensive it can be nowadays, looking after your technology is always of the utmost importance.
However, when you are completely immersed in the world of Hogwarts Legacy or enjoying the latest Call of Duty, it can be difficult to remember that the PS5 could do with a spring clean once in a while.

Thankfully, looking after your PlayStation 5 is very easy, with Sony making improvements in terms of access compared to the PlayStation 4.
Many PS5 users have become accustomed to taking off the consoles plates every few months to remove any dust to ensure it remains in an optimal condition.
Simply, all you have to do is pop off the cover from your PS5 when you can then use a a vacuum nozzle to gently get rid of any dust that's built up in the console's internals, including what may be found in the fan.

Even just a simple duster will help removed any excess on the PS5, helping prevent concerning overheating problems.
And if unsure on how to go about this, there are plenty of YouTube tutorial videos going through a step-by-step guide into cleaning a PS5.
However, one Redditor has seemingly never tuned into such videos or listened to advice provided to Sony themselves.
Posting on the PlayStation subreddit, user BigCoreyD penned: "My son’s PS5 kept overheating. They wanted 400 Canadian dollars for out-of-warranty repair. I took it apart and found this clogging the air vents."

The Redditor posted photographic evidence to his description and to say this PS5 has seen better days is the understatement of the century!
The machine is clogged with dust, a lot of which seemed wedged in the fan vents.
Adding to that, the person who posted the thread says that they have two dogs in the house, something that certainly could have contributed to the overheating problems.

Nonetheless, fellow Redditors have been left horrified by the photo.
"This is why everyone needs to clean. The Power Supply Unit gets clogged," one person commented.
"I had issues a while ago with mine shutting down randomly. I opened it up all the way, lo and behold the vents for the PSU were clogged," a second added.
"Perfect post to remind people of cleaning their devices and their homes. Dust gets in everything and this may be necessary depending on your environment," a third remarked.
