Gossip Girl star Blake Lively is known for stealing the red carpet with her jaw-dropping looks and the 2022 Met Gala is no exception.
In typical Lively style, she did not miss an opportunity to impress.
Adorned with a ginormous bow, it took a team of tuxedoed helpers to unravel her enormous train, with the end result nothing short of incredible.

With the bow-train unwrapped, the dress transformed from rose gold to an incredible teal colour before the audience's eyes.
She swished off her past-the-elbow gloves to reveal another dazzling pair underneath
But the real stunner here is the hidden meaning behind her mega-frock.

As well as being beautiful, yhe custom Atelier Versace gown was chock-full of hidden meanings, designed to emulate the Statue of Liberty which was gifted to the US from France in 1886.
This year's Met Gala theme is 'Gilded Glamour and White Tie', which pays homage to the Gilded Age of America, from 1870 to 1890.
So, the Statue of Liberty sits smack-bang in the middle of that period.
Lively told E! that her Lorraine Schwartz crown was a nod to the one worn by Lady Liberty, while the front of her dress was inspired by the architecture of the Empire State Building.

The rose-gold dress can be seen covered with glittering, geometric embroidery and mirrored accents.
The iridescent dress appeared to change colour as she moved, with the copper-coloured train melting into a stunning teal shade once it was untied.
This symbolises how the Statue of Liberty was copper in colour when it was gifted to America, however slowly turned to its now iconic green after oxidisation.

A constellation-esque design also featured on the train, inspired by New York's Grand Central Station.
That last part is giving us straight-up Serena van der Woodsen vibes, but considering the Gossip Girl character is a style queen, it's no wonder she's want to channel the role that shot Lively to stardom.
Explaining the inspiration behind the breathtaking Met Gala look, Lively told The Cut: "Instead of looking to fashion to influence the dress, I looked to New York City architecture and classic buildings."

As well as boasting a quite frankly iconic frock, you'd be forgiven if you missed an adorable detail in the starlet's hair-do.
Hidden underneath that rhinestone, boss-lady crown, there's a small braid that flowed seamlessly into Lively's blonde wavy tresses.
Her hair was pushed back to sit over her shoulder to let that dress do the talking.
She was accompanied on the red carpet by her husband, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds, who was also dressed to impress.
But what else would you expect from two co-chairs of the event?
