Andrew Garfield's real accent is really posh and people can't get over it.
The LA-born Spider-Man actor regularly whips out his American accent on-screen and no one bats an eyelid.
But even though he was born in the US, and his father is from California, Garfield's mum is actually from Essex, England.

His parents moved from the US to the UK when Garfield was just three years old, and he was brought up in Epsom, Surrey.
Funnily enough, not everyone is aware of the actor's dual citizenship and a resurfaced clip of the 39-year-old appearing on a 2012 episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show has stunned viewers.
Although he was there to promote his iteration of Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man, Ellen soon turns her attention to his accent.

"So you are originally from England," she says, to which he replies, "Originally from Los Angeles, actually."
At the time of his appearance on the chat show, the actor clarified he was brought up in England and had been back in America for around 'four or five years'.
Ellen was shocked by the revelation, saying, "Oh wow, because, you know, from The Social Network we don't know that accent and suddenly I hear you talk and you're not American at all... and yet you are American."

Garfield then quips: "Yeah, I'm confused, too."
Over on social media, people were just as shocked to hear him in his natural form, with one writing: "Andrew Garfield has an English accent ???? What???"
Another said: "Wait Andrew Garfield has an English accent how tf did I not know that," while a third added: "Andrew Garfield speaks SO posh how do you get to that point?"
A fourth chimed in: "Hearing Andrew Garfield speak in his British accent is incredibly alarming to me I don’t like that."

More recently, fellow Spider-Man actor Tobey Maguire has thanked Garfield and Tom Holland for 'reinvigorated’ his love for acting.
Maguire described in No Way Home: The Art of the Movie how working with his fellow heroes formed a kind of brotherhood’, adding it was a ‘very rich experience’ for him.
“Working with Andrew [Garfield] and Tom [Holland] was so dear to me, it really was special—a very rich experience for me, all around. It kind of reinvigorated my interest in performing,” he explained.

“It felt like a real brotherhood, which was what we were aiming for, too, for us and for the characters.
“But then to have those dynamics play out—feeling a real connection and love for these guys, and having fun and having a laugh—all of that was energizing and reinvigorating for me.”
It's safe to say that the Spider-Man bromance between the three stars is well and truly unmatched.
