Tragic footage filmed hours before Chester Bennington's death resurfaces

Chester Bennington's wife posted the clip that was filmed just hours before he took his own life

Warning: this article discusses suicide which some readers may find distressing.

Chester Bennington's wife shared a moving video of the singer taken just hours before his death.

The Linkin Park frontman took his own life in 2017, following a life-long battle with depression and substance abuse.

His untimely death shook the music industry to its core, as well as his loved ones.

Speaking after his passing, Chester's wife, Talinda Bennington, discussed the 'In the End' singer's demeanour on the night before his suicide.

"He was at his best," she told CNN. "We were on a family vacation, and he decided to go back home to do a television commercial.

"This was not a time where we or any of our family suspected this to happen, which is terrifying. [...] We thought everything was OK."

Talinda's comments were reflected in a video she posted on social media following Chester's death, where the father-of-six was seen enjoying some quality time with one of his sons and a friend.

In the video, Chester looked to be with a friend and his son Tyler as Talinda filmed the trio trying eating some kind of sweets that they didn't know the flavor of.

"I'm going to have rotten egg or something else that smells," Chester said to the camera before eating it.

After putting it in his mouth, the singer quickly spat it out - as did Tyler and the other guy with theirs - as they were evidently not very nice.

Sharing the clip of Twitter in 2017, Talinda wrote alongside it: "This is what depression looked like to us just 36 hrs b4 his death. He loved us SO much & we loved him."

The video resurfacing online comes after Talinda recently shared her approval of Emily Armstrong being named as Linkin Park's new singer.

Taking to Instagram last week, Emily penned: "I’m so beyond excited for this next chapter!! The love and support does not go unnoticed. See you all soon."

Talinda proceeded to reply to the post with fire emojis as she appeared to give the singer her blessing.

While Talinda seems to be on board with Emily joining the band, Chester's son Jaime has slammed the decision.

Taking to his Instagram Story, Jaime, 28, said Linkin Park co-founder Mike Shinoda had 'quietly erased my father's life and legacy in real time…during international suicide prevention month'.

Jaime, who is the son of Chester and Elka Brand, went on to voice his disapproval of Armstrong's past, referring to her connection to the Church of Scientology and her support of That '70s Show actor Danny Masterson, who was convicted of raping two women and sentenced to 30 years to life in prison last year.
