Denise Richards has recalled the difficult day she had to tell her and Charlie Sheen's kids of his HIV diagnosis.
Richards and Sheen were married for four years, during which time they welcomed Sami, now 21, and Lola, who is 19.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star is now married to Aaron Phypers, whom she wed in 2018. Richards also has a third daughter, 13-year-old Eloise, whom she adopted in 2011.

The family is no stranger to the limelight, and Richards, her three daughters, and her husband have recently embraced this and launched their own reality TV show, Denise Richards & Her Wild Things.
In a recent episode of her new show, she discussed being on OnlyFans.
"I will say that I'm in the top one percent of creators on OnlyFans, so I am very grateful," Richards said. "It's very empowering, especially for someone my age, that people still want to see me that way."

In regards to how it may have impacted her marriage, it turns out that Phypers is actually her personal photographer.
Richards said of her husband: "He's so supportive. He knows what men love, and he'll go through all the photos and say, ‘This is good. Do this. This is what guys like.'"
Richards is quite open with her children, but when Lola and Sami were younger in particular she went out of her way to protect them from hearing things about their parents.
However, the mom-of-three was side-blinded in 2015 when ex Sheen went public with his HIV diagnosis on the Today show.

Speaking recently, Richards said she was 'upset' that the Two and a Half Men star didn't give her a heads up about his announcement.
She said on Jenna Kramer's podcast: "I wish he gave me a heads up, like, 'Hey, I'm doing it today.' You know? Because it was everywhere."
The actress went on to share that she had to pick up Sami and Lola from school early out of fear that her classmates would hear the news before they did.

"I had to have a conversation about that," Richards said of having to tell her daughters about their father's health condition.
She admitted that it was 'hard' to do.
"It was kind of hard to explain to them what it was," said the 54-year-old. "That was the only time."

Richards added that that was the only time she could think of that she had to speak to her kids about any public controversies involving their celebrity parents.
"For the most part, I really try to shelter them from a lot of stuff." the actress added.
