A press release for the movie, directed by David Meyers, describes it as a 'narrative-driven cinematic odyssey, steeped in mythological storytelling and personal healing'.
And the synopsis certainly suggests there is plenty to look forward to in the new release - promising 'fantastical costumes' as well as 'breathtaking choreography' - not to mention cameos from some famous faces, including Trevor Noah, Sofia Vergara, Post Malone, and Keke Palmer.
The movie, which is also described as an 'introspective retrospective', will see the 'Jenny from the Block' singer face heartbreak with a number of different lovers - with her journey beginning after her friends stage an intervention suggesting that her character is a 'sex addict'.

The main song on the 13-track project, called Can't Get Enough, also dropped along with a music video on January 10.
Lopez spoke to her fans via a livestream, saying that it was clear that the song should be the lead track,
She explained: "So when we first heard this song, everyone just knew that this was the one to launch This Is Me… Now.
"It has an energy, it has a happiness to it, and you feel it all."

The Daredevil star was also the inspiration for Lopez's 2002 album This Is Me... Then.
Given the new album is called This Is Me... Now, it's not a big stretch to wonder if it might reflect on some of the same themes as her previous work.
As for Lopez, she has also said how 'excited' and 'nervous' she is for her fans to watch 'the story of her journey'.
Taking to her Instagram page, she wrote: “I have not been this nervous, excited, scared and thrilled to share something with you in years!!
