Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner speak out after reaching temporary custody agreement for their daughters

Jonas filed for a divorce from Turner last month

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have spoken out after reaching a temporary custodial agreement for their two daughters.

Last month, it was confirmed that Jonas, 34, had filed for a divorce from Turner, 27, after four years of marriage, though Turner later revealed she didn't find out about the divorce until it was out in the media.

Turner then sued her former partner in a bid for their two daughters to return to England, as per legal documents obtained by Page Six.

According to the filing, the pair's two children have been living with Jonas in Miami and other places in the US most recently, but Turner claimed Jonas was 'withholding' their three-year-old and one-year-old daughters' passports, preventing them from traveling 'home to England with their mother'.

The original divorce filing included a reference to the celeb couple's children, saying: "A parenting plan should be established, which addresses all parenting issues and contains a timesharing schedule providing for frequent and continuing contact with both parties. The children have been residing with their father in Miami and other locations throughout the United States."

The dispute seems to be over for now though, as the former couple shared a joint statement on Tuesday (10 October) after reaching a temporary agreement for custody of their two daughters, Willa, three, and Delphine, one.

"After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the U.S. and the UK. We look forward to being great co-parents," they said in a statement.

The agreement is apparently only in place until early 2024, as per court documents obtained by People.

An interim consent order laid out custody of the pair's two daughters for the weeks ahead after being engaged in 'productive mediation' in the past few days.

People reports that the agreement runs through to 7 January, so a future agreement requires 'that the parties shall jointly submit a status report letter' prior to 23 December.

At that time, the status of mediation between the two will apparently be reviewed in the hope that a further agreement in the best interests of the children can be reached.

The agreement extends until the beginning of next year.

According to People, under the latest consent agreement, the Game of Thrones star will have their daughters from 9 to 21 October, with them being allowed to travel to the UK with her for filming during that time.

They then have to be in New York by 21 October, where they will be with Jonas until 2 November.

Turner will then take over parenting duties from 2 to 22 November, before Willa and Delphine return to their dad for Thanksgiving between 22 November to 16 December.

The children will then spend Christmas with their mom up until 7 January where this original agreement comes to an end.
