Shocking footage shows moment Morgan Wallen 'throws chair from bar rooftop'

Shocking footage shows moment Morgan Wallen 'throws chair from bar rooftop'

Metro Nashville police officers arrested Morgan Wallen on three felony counts

Footage captured outside a bar in Nashville shows the moment country singer Morgan Wallen allegedly threw a chair off the roof to the street below.

Wallen was arrested in Tennessee on Sunday (7 April) after two Metro Nashville police officers saw a chair fall to the ground from above them.

The officers had been standing just a few feet away from where the chair landed outside Chief's Bar on Broadway in Nashville, prompting them to approach staff members to find out what had happened.

Staff at the bar claimed Wallen, who is known for his songs including 'Last Night' and 'Sand In My Boots', had been responsible for throwing the chair after making his way to the top of the six-storey building.

In an arrest report cited by News Channel 5, officers said they observed a video which showed Wallen 'lunging and throwing an object over the roof'.

Footage obtained by TMZ shows Chiefs Bar from the street below, with the bright sign of the bar visible towards the bottom of the frame.

A few seconds into the clip, a blurry object can be seen falling rapidly to the ground from the roof of the bar.

Another video shared on TikTok claims to feature 'THE chair', and shows a Metro Nashville police officer carrying the chair, seemingly made of metal and wood, down the street and back towards the entrance of the bar.

"Iykyk," the caption read, meaning: "If you know, you know."

Following the incident, Wallen was arrested for three counts of felony reckless endangerment for the two officers who were in the vicinity and for the danger to the public.

The singer, who is 30-years-old, was also charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct as he was booked into jail and had his bond was set at $15,250.

An attorney for Wallen, Worrick Robinson, confirmed news of the arrest in a statement, saying: "At 10:53 p.m. Sunday evening Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is cooperating fully with authorities."

The Metro Nashville Police Department further shared the news as they posed Wallen's mugshot on X, showing him grinning at the camera with a wide smile.

Wallen was released from jail hours after his arrest, which came just days after he kicked off his One Night At A Time 2024 tour.

The singer is next set to appear in court on 3 May - the same day he is scheduled to perform at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
