Robert De Niro's girlfriend Tiffany Chen has hit back at negative comments about the pair's relationship.
Earlier this year in April, Robert De Niro, 79, welcomed his seventh child into the world with partner Tiffany Chen.
Chen went through 'complications' after giving birth to their daughter, Gia Virginia Chen De Niro, and the 45-year-old has also faced complications as a result of going out with De Niro - with their relationship thrust into the spotlight and commented on by social media trolls.
Speaking on CBS Mornings with Gayle King, Chen revealed she's faced a lot of criticism surrounding her and the Godfather Part 2 star's relationship - the pair having been going out since 2019.

She said: "Some of the things they said, I have a pretty thick skin... Some of the things I would see was like 'Oh, they’re so tired,' or 'They’re this' or 'They’re that' or 'They look somber' or ‘'They’re not happy.'
"I mean they said those things, it was a little frustrating to see sometimes. I’m like, 'Mind your own business a bit, and if you want to say something, don’t always attach what you think in your mind is the story, you don’t know us, you don’t know what happened in somebody’s life'."
Chen revealed she's had people comment 'all sorts of nasty things' including remarks about her 'appearance' or her appearing 'angry'.

Chen explains she developed Bell's palsy - 'an unexplained episode of facial muscle weakness or paralysis,' according to John Hopkins Medicine - after giving birth to her daughter - which is why she thinks people sometimes interpret her as looking 'angry'.
She notes: "And I'm just kind of like, 'This is, like, the happiest time in my life.'"
Thankfully, despite the 'nasty comments' and criticism, Chen is very well supported by De Niro - with the actor being 'very sweet' when her face 'completely dropped' and she first realised she'd developed Bell's palsy after giving birth.

She said: "He tried to say that he didn’t see any difference, he didn’t see any changes, he was like, 'No, you look fine, maybe you look a little stern,' and I’m like 'Really? My whole face is melted on itself'.
"But he was very strong, very supportive."
