Stevie Nicks fans are calling the star a ‘queen’ after discovering her eight-word reply to Katy Perry, after being quizzed on who her industry ‘rivals’ were.
76-year-old Nicks truly needs no introduction, but if you’re somehow unfamiliar with the Arizona-born singer-songwriter, then here’s a crash course.
Not only is the ‘Gypsy’ singer an eight-time Grammy Award nominee, but she’s the only woman to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice and is a founding member of one of the world’s best-selling bands, Fleetwood Mac.
Nicks, who recently performed her rallying protest track ‘The Lighthouse’ on Saturday Night Live, has just wrapped up a two-year world tour and has since sat down with Rolling Stone to discuss celebrity friends like Taylor Swift and the upcoming Presidential Election.

As well as touching on upcoming icons like Chappell Roan and whether she’s considered a farewell Fleetwood Mac tour - ‘no’ was the answer - Stevie admitted she never designed ‘The Lighthouse’ to be a hit record.
“I’m not interested in it anyway, because I’m the only person that isn’t always on a phone,” she explained, before telling interviewer Angie Martoccio that she isn’t connected to the internet on her iPhone.
“I’m envious of that,” the reporter replied, prompting the ‘Everywhere’ hitmaker to continue.
“I hate it. About 10 years ago, Katy Perry was talking to me about the internet armies of all the girl singers, and how cruel and rancid they were.

“I said, ‘Well, I wouldn’t know because I’m not on the internet.’”
Nicks went on to claim that Perry asked her ‘who [her] rivals’ were, which caused the singer to give her a ‘steely look’.
“I said, ‘Katy, I don’t have rivals. I have friends. All the other women singers that I know are friends. Nobody’s competing. Get off the internet and you won’t have rivals either.'”

After reading the portion of the interview, fans have taken to Reddit to have their say on the Nicks-Perry conversation.
“Wow what a wild thing to ask Stevie Nicks!! Like did Katy really think she would talk to her about her rivals?? I can’t believe Katy was 29 when she asked that,” commented one social media user.
“’Get off the internet and you won't have rivals either’. I cackled, this is perfectly said,” praised a second.

Someone else wrote: “F**k yes, Stevie! Other women are not your enemies, sisterhood is so important.”
Another penned: “I love that Stevie Nicks sees no rivals among female singers—real legends just lift each other up.”
“Stevie Nicks is a real queen,” gushed a fifth.
So, if you too are suffering from being online, you may want to take a leaf out of Nicks' book.
