Theo James reveals woman left 'small turd' in his bath after first date went wrong

The Gentleman star Theo James has revealed his unfortunate dating blunder

Most of us have probably got some pretty unfortunate dating stories, but Theo James' surely tops them all.

The Gentleman star, 39, is certainly one of the biggest actors in Hollywood as of late, and he doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon.

But a lot of us tend to forget that celebs also have lives away from the glitz and glamour.

And James is certainly not afraid to spill the beans on this, and what his life was like before he made the big time.

During a game of 'Two Truths and a Lie' at the Emmys FYC panel, moderated by Entertainment Weekly, James let slip that his lie was that he is related to actor Brian Cox.

However, it's one of the truths that has shocked much of the internet.

The 39-year-old star revealed that a date once left him a bizarre departure gift in his bathtub.

Recalling the dating incident with amusement, James said: "At university, I went on a date that I thought went pretty well. We had some fun, and we were young and dumb and full of fun.

"And in the morning she had left, and there was a present for me in the bath. And it was a small turd."

As you'd probably expect, the audience erupted into laughter as James shared the hilarious story.

However, he did try to tone things down a little by admitting his final truth: "I'm a quarter Greek!"

James has since gone on to marry Irish actor Ruth Kearney, 39, with the pair tying the knot in 2018. They share two children together.

Before entering the world of acting, James actually had morbid part time job at the NHS, where he would collect and clean up dead people's furniture.

"My mum set me up [with] one of many jobs, you know, that you had early in your career, and I had to go and collect furniture and then clean it down," he told LADbible.

"Yeah, it was actually pretty tricky, because what you had to do is inevitably after, this is pretty dark, but after someone passes away, they have a bunch of stuff that needs to be used for someone else in the NHS system.

"So you had to go into these homes with these grieving people and I’ll be like 'Can I have that bed back?’"
