When applying for that dream job, or any job for that matter, you dread that rejection letter email coming into your inbox.
'Thanks for your application', followed by the word we all dread when it comes to a job letter: 'unfortunately'.
However, it's not uncommon to never actually receive a rejection letter at all, coming to the point where you accept you haven't got the job after weeks of not hearing anything from the employer.

But if you do receive a rejection letter, it will often be short and sweet, with the company wishing you the best of luck with the job search.
However, one rejection letter has gone viral on social media due to how different it is from the bog-standard letter we're used to seeing from employers.
In fact, this particular letter provided some inspirational stories alongside a message 'offering hope' to the unsuccessful candidate.

A screenshot of the letter was posted to the Reddit forum anti-work by the user who goes by the name of SIP-BOSS.
Captioning the post the Reddit user wrote: "There’s a rejection letter for ya, it’s full of hope," before adding it is 'rather inspiring'.
The letter, which was issued by the employer DoorLoop, started off with the usual business jargon essentially thanking the candidate for taking time out to apply for the role.
But before the usual 'good luck with your future endeavours' bit, the employer offered some rather inspirational lines.

They wrote: "We'd like to leave you with these reminders: Walt Disney was sacked because his editor said he 'lacked imagination and had no good ideas'.
"Elon Musk was rejected from a number of emerging tech companies, including Netscape.
"Michael Jordan was cut from his high school varsity team."

The letter concluded: "All of them setbacks turn into success stories. We try to do the same at DoorLoop and encourage you to do the same."
The post has received close to 1,000 comments on Reddit, with the letter certainly dividing opinion on the social media platform.
"It's much better than the standard never calling you back or just saying they picked someone better," one person wrote.
A second added: "You could reply to them and ask, why they don‘t want to hire the next michael jordan / elon musk / walt disney then…"

Meanwhile, a third remarked: "I kinda appreciate that message. They understand success and know you will find it elsewhere."
Others were a little less impressed by the reaction letter though.
One wrote: "I feel like someone asked chatgpt to write the most inspirational rejection letter."
While a second added: "Talk about a form letter... Why can't people be bothered to pick up the phone? You invested time in them and they can return the favor at all?"
