Marvel fans have been left with a lot of questions after seeing the trailer for Deadpool 3, but one of the most pressing relates to the sight of a dead superhero.
After months of teasers and sneak peaks, we finally got our first good look at Wolverine and Deadpool together in the new trailer released by Marvel today (22 April).
There's still a good few months to go until we see the full story unfold on the big screen, but the trailer offers us an insight as the two much-loved characters get to know one another after meeting face-to-face in a bar.

Deadpool learns that Wolverine 'let down his entire world', but he's still determined to get him to help save his own home.
Deadpool enlists the help of the 'X-Man' for the fight which, by his own admission, involves a 'big slow-motion action sequence' in which we don't know if they'll 'live or die'.
We actually see a flurry of action scenes in the trailer, but one quick clip in particular stood out more than others to some fans.

Hidden amid epic scenes of gushing blood, we see what at first appears to be a door opening on some sort of craft. A slightly closer look, however, and you might realize that you recognize the object that's moving.
Fans have been left horrified to realize the object is actually Ant-Man's helmet - and inside, we start to see the teeth and bones of a skull.
This comes as a particular shock because the last time we saw Ant-Man was in the 2023 movie Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania - and when we left him, he was alive and well.
After seeing the trailer, one concerned Marvel fan wrote: "So is no one going to talk about Scott’s giant skull still being in the Ant-Man helmet???"

They can rest assured that people are talking about it, however, with fans showing mixed reactions to the news of Ant-Man's apparent death.
"Is that ant man's giant hollowed out skull. WTF," one shocked viewer wrote, as another commented: "Omg Ant-Man’s skull is ACTUALLY inside of the helmet…"
Other viewers said seeing the skull was 'so cool', while one person went as far as to suggest that 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was so bad they killed Ant Man'.

I'm not sure if that would be the best approach for Marvel to take against critics, but another viewer came up with another suggestion.
"This probably in another universe," they wrote.
With the multi-verse having already been established, it's entirely possible Ant-Man's skull could be being used as a base in Deadpool 3, but that Scott Lang is still breathing elsewhere. Only time will tell...
