People are flocking to watch a new historical drama series which has been compared to Game of Thrones.
You may remain scarred from GOT's 'Red Wedding' episode or have simply sworn off historical dramas after being left disappointed with the series' ending, but with a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score, this show has got to deserve a watch.
Check out the epic trailer below:
Based on the 1975 novel of the same name by James Clavell, alongside a miniseries released in 1980 starring Toshirô Mifune and narrated by Orson Welles, the show stars the likes of John Wick: Chapter 4's Hiroyuki Sanada, Persuasion's Cosmo Jarvis and Fast X's Anna Sawai.

The series is set in Japan in the year 1600, the country at the cusp of a civil war. It sees the Council of Regents unite against Lord Yoshii Toranaga (Sanada), however, the arrival of English pilot John Blackthorne (Jarvis) could help sway the battle in Toranaga's favor.
And well, if you watch the trailer, it's not hard to get a glimpse into why the series has been reviewed by Variety as 'the most transportive TV epic since Game of Thrones'.
Oh, and if you needed any more convincing, despite only premiering its first two episodes earlier today (27 February), it's already achieved a perfect 100 percent Tomatometer score and cheer-worthy 95 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, with people now flooding online to see what all the fuss is about.

"I don't know much about this show, but the more I see the more I want to know," another wrote.
A third commented: "Now that’s a rare rating."

However, a fourth argued: "Nothing will come close to GOT."
But one viewer who's already watched the first two episodes said: "I already tapped in. Two episodes in and I'm already stuck."
"I have watched it and I can say that Game of Thrones only edges it by margin," a second added.
