Easton ‘Tank’ Oliverson was minutes away from dying when he fell from a bunk bed and fractured his skull.
The star little league player, 12, was sleeping in a dormitory with his fellow teammates when he fell out of bed during his sleep. He badly injured himself and had to be and was airlifted to a local children’s hospital.
At around 1.30am that morning, Easton’s dad – an assistant coach for his son’s team – awoke to the heart-stopping news that Easton was fighting for his life.

Speaking to CNN, Easton’s dad Jace Oliverson explained: “Doctors [were] saying he's 30 minutes, max, from dying, with so much pressure on his brain stem.”
Speaking about the awful condition Easton was in when he arrived at hospital, Dr. Frank Maffei from the paediatrics department at Geisinger Janet Weis Children's Hospital in Danville, Pennsylvania, shared: “There are some children that arrive in a very, very poor state, and Easton's state upon arrival was among the poorest I've seen.”
Easton had to have surgery to stop the bleed on his brain and afterwards was placed in a medically induced coma.

The young lad fell from his bed on Monday (15 August) and his family have been documenting his progress on Instagram since then.
Incredibly, Easton was sitting up as early as Wednesday (17 August) and no longer needed to be sedated.
By Thursday, he’d been moved from the ICU and was able to sit up in a chair and feed himself. That same day, Easton even ‘took a few steps’ all on his own and was chatting more to his family.

Commenting on Easton’s condition, Dr. Oded Goren, who specialises in cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery, told CNN: “[He’s] making tremendous strides toward recovery and we are expecting him to have a really near complete recovery.”
In a statement of his own, Easton’s dad Jace thanked the nation for their prayers and added: “My wife and I, from the very beginning [knew] the only way that we're going to get through this is with the love and support and faith and prayers to our heavenly Father. He is showing people now that miracles do happen.”
On Thursday, Jace also shared that his son was desperate to get back on the playing field.
The doting dad told the outlet: “When he asked what day it was and we told him, he asked us, 'Am I able to play on Friday?' And I just shook my head at him and I'm like, 'Sorry, buddy. You can't. We've got to get you better, first.”
