A key witness in the OJ Simpson trial has provided a theory as to what happened to the murder weapon after detailing exactly what he saw.
Simpson made a name for himself as one of the greatest running backs of all time during his career in the NFL, but his public image very much changed in 1994.
That's because he found himself a suspect in the deaths of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman.

The pair were brutally stabbed to death outside Nicole's home in California, and a few days after the murders, police announced their intention to arrest Simpson.
During their marriage from 1985 to 1992, Nicole alleged in her diary that Simpson was verbally, emotionally, and physically abusive.
Almost a year on since Simpson died of cancer in April 2024, a new documentary looking into the infamous case has dropped on Netflix.

American Manhunt: O.J. Simpson is available to watch on the popular streamer now, providing more insight into the case and Simpson.
Described as 'the trial of the century', proceedings took place over a period of 11 months, from November 1994 to October 1995. Simpson was ultimately acquitted and the murders remain unsolved to this very day.
One of the biggest mysteries in the OJ Simpson case that never got solved is what ultimately happened to the murder weapon, which was a knife.
The murder weapon was never discovered, which meant it was not presented as evidence at the trial.

But some key witnesses who spoke on the Netflix documentary revealed what they think happened to it.
Skip Junis, who was at the airport waiting to pick up his wife, saw Simpson leave a limo ready to board a flight to Chicago.
Speaking in the Netflix doc, Junis said Simpson had several lots of Louis Vuitton luggage, but was also holding a 'cheaper' looking bag he was keen for the limo driver to not touch or even see.

Junis went on to say he saw Simpson pull out 'something long' from the duffel bag, before placing it in a trash can and boarding his flight to Chicago.
Many other points are discussed and footage shown in American Manhunt, including that of the infamous arrest of the former NFL player.
Simpson was filmed fleeing from the police in his white Ford Bronco, carrying his passport and a disguise, but he eventually handed himself in.
