The man charged with throwing his phone at Bebe Rexha while she was in the middle of a live performance has revealed why he did it.
The singer was wowing the crowd at Pier 17 in New York City and looked like she was having an absolute ball presenting her Best F*n Night Of My Life' tour'.
However, the concert quickly turned sour when a phone flew through the air and smacked the 33-year-old right in the face.

Footage shows the musician pause for a second to work out what had just happened, before falling to her knees on stage.
Videos have been posted to social media showing her being rushed off stage while clutching her face and being surrounded by her team:
Police have since charged 27-year-old Nicolas Malvagna with with two counts of assault in the three degree; one count of harassment in the second degree; one count of aggravated harassment in the second degree; and one count of attempted assault in the third degree.

The NYPD says Malvagna 'intentionally threw a cell phone' at Rexha and confirmed she 'was removed by EMS to an area hospital in stable condition'.
Rolling Stone reports the New Jersey native has confessed to the incident and also provided a motive.
The outlet quoted The Manhattan District Attorney’s office, who revealed Malvagna said: “I was trying to see if I could hit her with the phone at the end of the show because it would be funny.”

However, many people online didn't see the humorous side to the incident.
"People need to stop throwing their phones on the stage! Celebs are not obligated to take pictures or videos with your phone!" wrote on user.
Another added: "They probably didn’t mean to hit her in the face, maybe they did. But either way don’t throw anything on stage, ur not special and its really selfish cuz they are out there giving their all to put a good show on. Have some respect."
A third wrote: "Wishing her a speedy recovery. no one deserves to be at risk of an injury while doing what they love."

Bebe took to Instagram to reveal the damage that the phone did when it hit her face.
The singer posted a picture of herself with a blackened eye and what appears to be stitches on her face, captioning the pic: "I'm good."
Here's hoping she has a speedy recovery and that it doesn't affect the rest of her tour.
