An employee has revealed what happened when he returned to work after his boss tried to cancel his annual leave via text.
Channeling a similar energy to being broken up with over text - sorry to remind you on Valentine's Day - an employee was texted by his boss who told him his annual leave was simply 'canceled'.
However, the employee certainly wasn't giving up without a fight and just wait until you hear the latest update in the conundrum:
The story all started with outsourcing expert Michael Sanz - who goes by the username @theoutsourcingexpert - who took to his TikTok to share a series of screenshots he was sent involving a boss named Nick and an employee called Noel.

The screenshots show Noel had received a message from his boss informing him that his annual leave was cancelled as a result of another employee resigning.
Noel responded by acknowledging the difficult situation, but explained he was using his annual leave to go to his brother's wedding in Bali and so cancelling wasn't 'an option'.
Nick questioned why Noel needed three weeks suggesting three days instead, while Noel asked why he couldn't hire a temp to cover arguing he can spend his leave how he wants, but his boss ultimately resolved the leave was 'canceled'.
Noel hit back by saying he didn't even want to come into work now and so would actually start his holiday earlier and Michael has since given an update on the debacle.

The TikToker explains that Noel has since reached out to him, surprised by how much his experience has 'blown up' on social media, revealing he went to the wedding and had 'a great time' with his family.
"I turned my phone off for three weeks," he added. "I didn't check socials or my emails.

Michael praised Noel's response, noting the irony if his office hadn't pushed him so much he'd actually probably have been more likely to check in on his emails every now and again, however, Noel's management didn't seem to be quite as supportive when he returned from his leave.
Noel tells Michael when he came back from his trip, the management team seemed 'a bit distant' so he decided to 'find another job' and handed in his notice.
However he notes he didn't want to 'let [his] clients down' so made sure to keep them 'up to date'. As Michael notes, what a 'decent guy'.

Eventually, he found another job with 'higher pay,' with Noel adding to Michael: "I still can't believe the support your post got. Just grateful."
Michael resolves: "This is such a great success story where people see their value and they don't need to put up with how their companies are treating them. So, well played, well done."
And other TikTokers clearly agree, flooding to the post to commend Noel's decision.

One user wrote: "Fantastic outcome."
"Good on ya Noel," another added.
A third wrote: "Probably a good result for both parties... They wouldn't have respected him anymore if he stayed on."
And a fourth resolved: "Good on you NOEL. To many companies are under the impression that because they pay you THEY OWN YOU and thats there mentality AND THATS NOT ON."
