Police have confirmed that a man has been arrested and charged in connection with a tragic death involving a loose tire.
Ricky A. Raider, from Cincinnati, has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal collision in 2023 that took the life of an 18-year-old college student named Lauren A. Collins.
The tragic accidental death was hauntingly similar to a scene in the Final Destination film franchise.

The franchise would often see characters die in bizarre and unexpected ways, which often looked like elaborate accidents.
In this situation, Raider’s car tire fell off of his 1993 Ford F-250 truck while traveling. It ended up smashing into Collins’s car on July 16, 2023 while she was driving on I-75 in Northern Kentucky.
When he was questioned by police, Raider said he had lost a tire in the area but that he left the scene because he didn't think it would hit another car.

However, upon further investigation, authorities found that Raider was aware his tire struck another vehicle due to a phone call he made to an inmate.
The phone call was recorded and Raider is heard admitting to the fact it could have seriously injured the person in the vehicle it struck. He also stated that he got out of the area quickly to avoid facing any punishment for the accident.
Speaking only hours after the incident, he told a Bullitt County inmate: “It smashed somebody's f**king window, and it like smashed their whole f**king car. I don't know if they died; I don't know what happened.
“There were cops and ambulances everywhere, and s**t, they didn't see, I guess, they weren't paying attention to me f**king putting my wheel back on and driving off.

“I mean, it could have f**king killed them; I don't know if it killed them or if it hit them or what; I didn't stick around to f**king find out.”
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office issued a press release on June 21 and confirmed Raider's whereabouts, as well as the charges he now faces.
According to the release, [Raider] is lodged at the Boone County Detention Center and is held on a $40,000 cash bond.
