Emily Ratajkowski has argued that the wrong person came under fire following the Adam Levine cheating scandal.
The Maroon 5 singer made headlines after Instagram model Sumner Stroh claimed they had an affair, sharing screenshots of DMs allegedly sent by the singer.
The story became a hot topic, discussed all over social media, with many people criticising the 23-year-old influencer.

This did not go down well with Ratajkowski, who took to TikTok to ask 'why we continue to blame women for men's mistakes'.

In a new interview, the model has clarified that she wasn't specifically commenting on the Levine scandal, but rather the disparity between the standards men and women are judged by.

Speaking to Variety, the 31-year-old said: "I'm very familiar with those kinds of power dynamics between men and women, and I saw another moment where we were choosing to attack a young woman instead of the powerful man, which I didn't love.
"It wasn't honestly about Adam Levine.
"I just responded to this woman talking about how women need to change and adjust as preparation for men's behaviour, which is something I've been talking and writing about for a long time.
"Like, this 'Boys will be boys' attitude that women have? We have to do better."
Levine has since denied having an affair, but admitted crossing a line during a 'regrettable period' of his life.

Taking to his Instagram Stories on 20 September, the 43-year-old wrote: "A lot is being said about me right now and I want to clear the air. I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner.
"I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period of my life.
"In certain instances it became inappropriate. I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family.
"My wife and my family is all I care about in this world. To be this naïve and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make.

"I will never make it again. I take full responsibility. We will get through it and we will get through it together."
