Kevin Bacon proved he's still the Footloose King as he and his wife nailed a viral dance trend inspired by the movie.
Bacon was in his mid-20s when he starred in the popular '80s film as the role of Ren, where he managed to spin, jump and shimmy his way into viewers' hearts.
Nearly 40 years later Bacon is now better known to some as the face and voice of EE - but that's not to say he's lost his dancing skills.

Bacon jumped on the bandwagon after the so-called 'Footloose drop' trend went viral, tempting pairs across the globe to try and nail the move without anyone getting hurt.
The sequence sees one person, in this case Bacon, hold the arm and leg of their partner and pick them up so they're parallel to the floor. Bacon does this with his wife, Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor Kyra Sedgwick, before completing the move by letting go of Sedgwick's leg and allowing her to spin towards the ground.

Thankfully Bacon's experience as the star of Footloose seemed to pay off as he was successfully able to catch his wife before she hit the ground, after which she gave a big grin to the camera while Kenny Loggins' song 'Footloose' played in the background.
The pair high-fived their success, both likely relieved they had walked away unscathed after filming the clip for Instagram.
Though the viral trend has been named after Bacon's movie, the actor made clear he wasn't familiar with the moves as he wrote: "I don’t remember this being part of the original #Footloose choreography but figured we’d give it a spin."

The couple have been applauded for pulling off the manoeuvre, with many fans describing them as an inspiration and as 'marriage goals'.
One fan responded: "I watched this a few times. Not sure why I got such a kick out of it…. It might be the facial expressions. Well done!," while another wrote: "Nailed [it] guys! Bonus points for no injuries."
The video proves Sedgwick would have been a good dancing partner for Bacon in Footloose, but instead he starred alongside Lori Singer, who played the daughter of a pastor in a town where dancing gets banned - a rule which becomes an issue when Ren comes along with his dancing shoes.
