While other celebrities were showing off their incredible outfits on the Met Gala red carpet, Serena Williams surprised fans by showing off a baby bump.
The tennis star welcomed her first child with partner Alexis Ohanian in 2017 before returning to the court, but following her retirement last year her family is now set to grow by one.
Williams revealed her pregnancy in New York last night (1 May) as dozens of famous faces gathered at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for its annual gala.

The athlete arrived wearing a black, mermaid-style dress which fit tightly over her bump, making it impossible to miss the surprise plus-one she'd brought to the event.
Williams confirmed the exciting news while speaking to Vogue for a live stream, when she appeared alongside husband Ohanian and declared there were actually 'three' people there.
She expressed her relief at being able to share the announcement with the world, saying: "I'm feeling good now. I can breathe. I can stop hiding."

Further confirmation of her pregnancy came on Instagram, where Williams shared snaps of her Gucci outfit for the event and wrote: "Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala."
Naturally, the tennis star was flooded with well-wishes from her fans and followers, with even the official Olympics account getting involved as it responded: "Congratulations".
Having welcomed her eldest child, Olympia, more than five years ago, Williams has already learned that she loves being 'an incredibly hands-on mother'.

Speaking to Vogue about her parenting style, she added: "My husband will tell you I am too hands-on.
"In five years, Olympia has only spent one 24-hour period away from me. This past year, while I was recovering from a hamstring injury, I got to pick her up from school four or five days a week, and I always looked forward to seeing her face light up when she walked out of the building and saw me waiting there for her."
Williams wasn't the only one showing off her baby bump at the event last night, as model Karlie Kloss also announced the news of a new arrival to the world.

Speaking to Vogue from the red carpet, Kloss said: "This is the first time I'm on a red carpet pregnant and it's a super special moment, also kind of vulnerable - so I don't know how to style a belly. I can't imagine a more special moment."
Rihanna was also showing off her growing bump after she revealed her pregnancy at the Super Bowl earlier this year.
There's set to be a lot of new little faces by the time the event rolls around next year!
