The day has finally come (well, it came a little early) as Rockstar dropped the first official trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI.
All gamers are well aware at this point how long we have been waiting for the latest instalment in the beloved franchise.
While there have been plenty of leaks, we've gone years without anything official being revealed about GTA VI - until now.
However, the way Rockstar had planned to reveal the game did not exactly go to plan.

The trailer was meant to be released on December 5 at 9am ET, however leaked versions made their way onto social media the night before.
It didn't matter how many versions were shut down, more kept popping up.
Rockstar eventually decided to upload the official version on YouTube and bring Christmas early for many fans all around the world.
The company took to X - formerly Twitter - on Monday (December 4) and wrote: "Our trailer has leaked so please watch the real thing on YouTube."

The highly anticipated trailer showcased the ever-expected Vice City for the very first time, with a modern twist compared to 2002's Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
While the fictionalized depiction of Miami certainly took centre stage, fans also got to see a lot of the series' first female protagonist, Lucia.
GTA fans were left pretty ecstatic about all of that, though the announcement of a 2025 release date has left a lot of them disappointed.

Rockstar Games released Grand Theft Auto V in September 2013, with the tenth anniversary of the game coming earlier this year.
Since then, Rockstar has released Red Dead Redemption 2 to much critical acclaim, while also releasing remasters of some of their much-loved titles.
But GTA fans have waited a long time for the next release in the juggernaut franchise, so a lot were hoping for a 2024 release date.

The trailer for GTA VI is the first indication Rockstar has given of any release date, and it's fair to say many fans have been left surprised and frustrated at the long wait.
"If someone would have told me after the release of V in 2013 that it will take till 2025 for the next one, I would have laughed out loud," one person wrote on Reddit.
While a second added: "2025? Damn, I feel like they are punishing us because of the leaks."
Other fans argued that the longer development time will give Rockstar time to craft the masterpiece that we all hope GTA VI will end up becoming.
